    • July 10-12 - Rumble in the Ridge - LARGEST YOUTH BASEBALL TOURNAMENT in BC! For Volunteer participation opportunities and to come out and support our Summer Ball Teams for ages 8U to 15U.

    PLEASE READ THIS PART CAREFULLY:

The Spring Blast ball season requires parent participation. Teams have coaches, but we also need parents to help these energy-filled small humans navigate their practices and games. We need parents to play catch with their child, and a few parents per night to help point the players in the right direction when running bases or keep players in line while they wait their turn at a practice station or while up to bat. Spring is a huge season for RMMBA and requires as many volunteers as possible to make it run smoothly.

During your SPRING registration process, you will get the choice to either:

    • Opt out of volunteering and pay the $250 fee - this will be added to your registration fee and is a non-refundable fee.  The only exceptions for refunds will be if you end up volunteering to Coach or Manage a team. Please consider volunteering!

We will hold coaches’ clinics for those that can commit to coaching. But coaches need to focus on coaching, so parent participation is crucial. It's a very small amount of work if we all do our part, but a huge job if it all falls on the coach! There are also plenty of opportunities to volunteer on an association level at events and tournaments we host. For example, we always need extra hands at Opening Ceremonies, Picture Day, league tournaments (Rumble in the RIDGE!!!), so please consider volunteering!

Volunteer/parent participation hours will be tracked by your team's manager. In Blast ball if you play catch on practice/game nights and help out a handful of times throughout the season you should meet your point requirements.

We look forward to seeing you all on the field!

    • July 10-12Rumble in the Ridge — the largest youth baseball tournament in BC! Come volunteer or cheer on our Summer Ball teams (8U-15U).

    PLEASE READ — Parent Participation

The Spring Rally Cap season requires parent participation. Coaches are in place, but they cannot run practices and games alone—especially with our energetic little athletes!

    Parents may be asked to:

    • Play catch with their child
    • Help guide players when running bases
    • Keep players organized while they wait their turn at stations or at bat

RMMBA’s Spring season is large and volunteer-driven. The more hands we have, the smoother the season runs.

    Volunteer Requirements

During Spring registration, you will choose one of the following:

    1. Volunteer for enough roles to earn 8 points Volunteer Opportunities Information

    OR

    1. Opt out of volunteering and pay the $250 non-refundable fee

This fee is added to your registration.

The only exceptions for a refund are if you volunteer as a Coach or Team Manager.

We offer coaches’ clinics for those who can commit to coaching. However, even with trained coaches, parent participation is essential. Many hands make light work; when everyone pitches in a little, the experience is better for everyone—especially the kids!

There are also plenty of chances to volunteer at association events such as Opening Ceremonies and Picture Day.

    Tracking Hours

Volunteer and parent participation hours will be tracked by your team’s manager. In Rally Cap, simply playing catch on practice/game nights and helping out a few times throughout the season is usually enough to meet your point requirement.

We can’t wait to see you all on the field for another fantastic season!

    • Evaluations to determine the competitive tier and to create balanced, recreational teams will take place on the week of February 15-21. Evaluation times will be released one week prior to evaluations so please save the date. There will be a $25 fee for evaluations that is automatically added into the registration fees.
    • No friend requests are allowed in this division or any older divisions

    Important Spring Dates:

    • April 1 - Start of Season
    • April 11 - Opening Day and Pictures
    • May 23 - Junior Skills Day - Karina LeBlanc Turf
    • July 10-12 - Rumble in the Ridge - LARGEST YOUTH BASEBALL TOURNAMENT in BC! For Volunteer participation opportunities and to come out and support our Summer Ball Teams for ages 8U to 15U even if your child is not on one of the summer teams.

This will be a tiered division where athletes have the opportunity to try-out for the Competitive tier, or can opt into our Recreational tier. There will be four Competitive teams consisting of a minimum of 44 players total, with a minimum of 16 first year (2016) players.  Following the evaluation process coaching staff will be selected for each tier based on the tier their players are assigned to. Any coaches that have children opting into the recreational tier and want to take on a team earlier, please contact the division commissioner.

The Competitive tier is designed for experienced players who are invested in the game of baseball.  After the players are evaluated and coaches are assigned, they will hold a draft to balance out the teams.  No player requests for team placement will be considered in this league.  Games days for the competitive tier will be Wednesday and Saturday with a minimum of one practice day to be determined by the coach. They will have two game days and a minimum of one practice per week. There will be an additional team fee of $135 charged on top of the regular season fee for players chosen for this program.  This additional fee covers Home and Away Jerseys with names which will also be used for summer teams. In addition it  covers the cost of the field use for the extra practices and games.

Games and practices will be held at the following fields: Karina LeBlanc, Harris Road Park, Pitt Meadows Athletic park, Upper Albion Park and Albion Sports Complex

The Recreational tier is designed for those who prefer to participate in a more recreational style of play. At this level there is a greater focus on participation, increased opportunity to explore a variety of positions, and having fun!  This league will also be an excellent opportunity for new athletes to try the sport in a fun and encouraging environment.  This tier will also have a draft at the conclusion of evaluations and we encourage as many parent volunteer coaches that can dedicate a little time to please come out!  If you are new to the sport yourself but have a passion for giving kids the opportunity to play we would love to hear from you!  The number of teams in this division will be based on coach participation.  If there are not enough coaches to accommodate everyone, players may end up wait-listed so we encourage as many of you that can volunteer to please do so!   Games days for the recreational tier will be Tuesday and Saturday with a practice day to be determined by the coach and a skill development night on Mondays.  They will play two games and one practice per week.  Due to the draft process there are no player placement requests for this tier, outside of coaches who are coaching together.

During the evaluation process, parents will be able to indicate if they would like their child to be considered for Competitive tier selection. Interest in the Competitive tier does not guarantee placement and will be determined by the evaluation process. Please reach out to the Mosquito commissioner with any questions about which program is appropriate for your child.  We encourage everyone to participate in the evaluation regardless of what division they want to play in.  It helps the draft stay balanced and it will also be another chance to come out to the facility and have some fun!

Please see our Volunteer Opportunities Information to choose your volunteer jobs.  More information on the Mosquito division, including equipment requirements can be found on our Mosquito Home Page
