A day at the Lake with PGCKC
PGCKC will load up our canoes and kayaks and travel to a lake within the Prince George region and then members can come out for the day and enjoy a paddle at a different lake without all the hassle and headache of transporting your own gear.
You are of course welcome to bring your own gear and join us for some guided paddle excursions and water games or try boats you didnt bring.
The exact location will be published soon - but please sign up if you are interested - we expect to spend half a day at this lake (plus half a day loading gear and transporting gear) - so we anticipate having 1 hour time slots that families can prebook.
Note that this is not a formal instruction program. The day is more like a members drop-in where you will sign out the club equipment and explore the lake with your family and friends.
For those looking for a guided excursion, we will also offer guided trips - but there is no formal paddling instruction and everyone should understand the basics of water and boat safety, and basic paddle strokes.
What to Bring
Everything you need to have a fun, safe day at the beach where you may swim and paddle.
Picnic Lunch, Water, Sunscreen, BugSpray etc
More details will follow - so sign up so we can keep you on the list!

Stump Lake BC (Kamloops) Youth Development Camp for Canoe Polo
In partership with the Rocky Canoe Club (Alberta) and under the tutelage of Keegan Smith, a past player of the Men's National team and past Coach of the U21 Canadian Women's team, youth will be introduced to the Canoe Polo concepts, adults and volunteers will learn the skills needed to help further the sport in their local club and everyone will have a grand time.
Dates: July 11-July 15th (plus travel dates down & up)
Location: Kamloops - south to Stump Lake
http://www.sitesandtrailsbc.ca/search/search-result.aspx?type=Site&site=REC5885
A new Canoe Polo clinic is being organized for July in Kamloops with training days July 11-13, a fun day July 14th and then a mini tournament on July 15th.
The site of the clinic is a lake / campground so families are expected to "camping" and the Head Coach and partner club are creating a basics camp experience to keep prices low.
Canoe Polo was played at the 2022 BC Summer Games in Prince George, we have been training in the pool, and it will be a sport at the 2024 BC Summer Games in Maple Ridge - so kids elegible to attend the BC Summer Games in 2024 might consider this extra training program where most of the kids attending are all new to this sport as well.
More details are coming - but if your child is interested, sign up and we will share the information asap.
We are looking at sending some of our club coaches down but depending on numbers and ages, this is NOT expected to be a PGCKC supervised event - we are expecting at least 1 parent / guardian to accompany the paddler (or group of paddlers if friends/family).
