The Halifax Hurricanes Ringette Association is excited to announce that registration for our Summer Goalie Development with Colin Hodd and Upper Echelon Goaltending is open! Ringette goalies from all associations and all skill levels (U10-U19) are invited to join Colin Hodd and his instructors for a 4-session program focused solely on developing goalie skills!

Each week, participants will focus on a specific skill and continue to build off of those foundational skills in following weeks. Emphasis is placed on goalie-specific power skating and edge work at the beginning of each session, followed by activities focused on the development of positioning, lateral movements in the crease, rebound control, goalie ring distributions with glove and stick, and more. Goalies will be grouped together, and drills may be adjusted based on like age and skill level. Goalie games will be used to keep things fun!

Come join Josie Cameron and her team of skilled ringette instructors for a summer long development camp for next year U14 & U16 aged athletes. 

 

Sessions are 1 hour each week for 12 weeks. 

 

Participants will develop skills and build confidence in preparation for next season. The sessions will focus on developing Defensive and Offensive skills, teaching players how to play defense more aggressively while using support, and also learning how to move the ring and be more creative with it. 

 

The program will also provide for goalie specific development. 

 

Eligible birth years: 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010

 

Registration is restricted to athletes who played at a minimum U12 level during the 2024-2025 season.
