CMHA will once again be hosting a 2-week (3 sessions/week) initiation skill development camp for players who will play in the U7 division during the 2025-26 hockey season from July 7-17th at the Chilliwack Coliseum. Please ensure that you register your child in the age group they will take part in during the upcoming season. This camp will be a great way for players to sharpen and refine their skills over the summer months, with elite instruction from members of the CMHA development team.
Development topics that will be covered:
Skating mechanics (balance, edge work, stride)
Puck Control (stickhandling, evasive moves, puck protection, passing, and pass reception)
Battle and Compete (fun competition)
Shooting and scoring skills
Small area games

Learn to Skate for Hockey (Learn to Skate)

CMHA is happy to announce that we will be returning our “Learn to Skate for Hockey” program for new members of the Chilliwack Minor Hockey Association, or players looking to join hockey this season in other surrounding associations. This program will be built towards allowing young players the opportunity to get comfortable on their skates prior to the beginning of their first hockey season! While this program is not mandatory for new players to CMHA, it is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that all players registered to play in Chilliwack Minor take part in this program to ease their transition into hockey!
This program will consist of (1) weekly skate from Thursday July 31st-August 28th. This program is designed to keep players moving and increase their comfort levels of being on the ice and learning the game! Topics will consist of:
- Basic balance and skating mechanics
- Introduction to edge and stride work
- Work on agility/control
- Proper stick position while skating
** Please note that all registrants ARE REQUIRED to have full hockey equipment to take part in this program.
