U9 2026-2027 Prep & Eval Registration (Under 9 (U9))

Welcome to the 2026-2027 U9 Prep & Eval Season for the Sarnia Jr. Lady Sting

Anticipated Team Structure:

• We plan to field 3 teams at the U9 level with Tier 1 at a C level and Team 2/3 at an even distribution for HL
• All final team levels will be decided in September based on pre-season play
• We do not expect any cuts as we are opening up the registration for maximum player rosters only; the evaluation skates are used for best team placement only.

Try-out Fee:

• $175; if you are successful in making a SJLS team, $75 will be deducted from the 2026-2027 season player registration fees.
• Try-out fees are non-refundable

Payment:

• We will only be accepting eTransfers and credit card payments again this year; NO cash will be accepted.  Payment must be made in full in order to step on the ice for the skates.  If a player has any outstanding fees (registration or team fees) from the 2025/26 season with SJLS, they will not be permitted to skate until the matter is resolved as agreed.
• eTransfers can be sent to treasurer@sarniagirlshockey.com including player name/division in the memo.

Permission to Skate:

• If your player trying out is coming from another OWHA association or OWHA independent team, you must have a Permission to Skate (Try-out) form from your last registered OWHA association or OWHA independent team in order to be eligible.  This is the responsibility of the parents/guardians to obtain.  Without this release, the player will not be permitted to skate until received, no exceptions.
• If you are a returning Sarnia Jr. Lady Sting player from the 2025/26 season, first-time hockey player or coming from the boys organization, you do not need a Permission to Skate form to attend SJLS try-outs

• U9 Prep Skate #1 - Monday, April 13^th, Last Name A to M at 5:15 pm to 6:15 pm and Last Name N to Z at 6:15 pm to 7:15 pm at PASA 2.  If there are any major changes to this division, we’ll communicate by the Friday prior.
• U9 Prep Skate #2  - Tuesday, April 14th, Last Name A to M at 5:15 pm to 6:15 pm and Last Name N to Z at 6:15 pm to 7:15 pm at PASA 2.  If there are any major changes to this division, we’ll communicate by the Friday prior.
• U9 Prep Skate #3  - Thursday, April 16th, Last Name A to M at 5:15 pm to 6:15 pm and Last Name N to Z at 6:15 pm to 7:15 pm at PASA 2.  If there are any major changes to this division, we’ll communicate by the Friday prior.
• Evaluation Skate #1 - Friday, April 17th, 5:15 pm to 6:15 pm and 6:15pm to 7:15 pm at PASA 2.  Groups will be divided and communicated Thursday night via the website.
• Evaluation Skate #2 - Saturday, April 18^th, 9:15 am to 10:15 am and 10:15 am to 11:15 am at PASA 2.  If there are any changes to the grouping, it will be communicated via the website on Friday night.
• Evaluation Skate #3 - Sunday, April 19^th, 9:00 am to 10:00 am and 10:00 am to 11:00 am at PASA 1.  If there are any changes to the grouping, it will be communicated via the website on Saturday night.

Dressing Rooms & Benches:

• All existing rules for dressing rooms and benches will be in effect for try-outs meaning that only approved Den Moms, Trainers and Coach/Ice help will be permitted in these spaces
• SJLS Executive will be working with the division Coaches to schedule and ensure appropriate numbers of each are in place for each skate during the try-out season.
