EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT UNTIL FEBRUARY 29, 2024 if you register AND pay now!! This program is an introduction for young players to learn the basics of soccer. It is geared toward players who lack soccer skills but still like to run around and get touches on the ball, have barriers preventing them from taking part in gameplay, and/or are looking for a less structured environment.

This program is suitable for first-time players who do not have any soccer knowledge, players who prefer not to play a full soccer game but enjoy various aspects such as shooting, dribbling, foot skills, etc.

We require a minimum of 1 volunteer helper for every 8 children on the field each day. They will be responsible for guiding the players through the basic skills of each practice as well as setting up each station and then supervising their group for the practice. Daily plans can be provided to the individuals willing to help out. Volunteers do not have to commit to every practice, we are happy to have different individuals helping out. A volunteer sign up sheet will be available closer to April. A virtual or in-person meeting will also take place early in April for anyone interested in learning more about helping on and off the field.

The program will tentatively take place on Thursdays from 6-7pm unless otherwise specified.

This program will be cancelled if there are fewer than 8 registrations or will be combined with the U9 age group at the discretion of MJSA.

  • FC Traveling Team *Add-on to House League* (Under 9)

    $0.00
This is a Tryout Package. It will not initiate a Home Club Transfer.

THIS IS AN ADD-ON TO OUR HOUSE LEAGUES! Please read the description fully as this is at an added cost.

New this outdoor season, MJSA will be having our FC Traveling Teams as an add-on to our House Leagues. This means that players will have to play in the house league and then have additional practices as agreed at the team information meeting. The cost can not be determined until we know that we have enough interest. Costs to expect will be as follows: tournament entry fees, hotel rooms, travel, jersey kits, additional practice time, etc. There are currently 3-4 tournaments available for us to take part in throughout Saskatchewan and more in Alberta or Manitoba if there is enough interest and commitment. Again, please only sign up if you and your player can commit.

On April 17, 2024 we will see how many players we have signed up that are interested in playing on a traveling team. Parents will be notified by email whether the FC team in their player's age group will take place or not. We will set a date for a mandatory meeting at that point as well. This meeting will take place by April 24th as there will be a lot of planning and organizing to do.

While we want to support everyone in being able to play soccer, the traveling team is a place for your dedicated players to challenge themselves against outside clubs. This is a big commitment not only for the player but for the parents as well.

This is to register for our Co-ed House Leagues.

Our house league will see 2 league games played each week per team. Player and team standings are kept at the U11 age. Teams will be provided with a numbered jersey that must be returned at the end of the season. Player/Parent/Guardian will be charged $50 for unreturned jerseys. Unpaid fees for unreturned jerseys will be added to player's account and will have to be paid before further registration can take place.

Shin guards, socks, and cleats are mandatory.

    Game Day and Play Format

    - The first 2 practices will have players being evaluated during gameplay. Teams will be set after this and will be e-mailed out and added on TeamLinkt.

    - The beginning of each gameday will include a short warm-up and stretch, run by the team leader or assistant.

    - Game format will be 7v7(with goalie)

    - Field size will be dependent on age group

    - 1 Volunteer Ref will be on the field for each of the age groups

    - No off-sides, but cherry picking rule will be at the referee's discretion

We require at minimum 1 team leader and 1 assistant team leader per team. Team roster sizes will be no more than 10 players for any age group. Parents/guardians registering their children who are available and willing to sign up to be a team leader/assistant team leader or volunteer referee will be placed on teams first.

We will be using TeamLinkt for coaches to communicate with their teams, as well as to provide other important information. Please download the app if you have not done so already.

***Should MJSA have more teams than team leaders/coaches, MJSA reserves the right to and will cancel/refund registrations to align with volunteer numbers***

    Games

U15 and U17 are tentatively set for Mondays and Wednesdays at 6pm-7:15pm. The ideal format each day will be the first 10-15 minutes practicing skills with their Team Leader followed by a 5 minute water break and then a 50-minute game (2-25 minute halves and a 5-minute break in between halves). Referees/Team Leaders will ref the game. The parent or assistant team leader will help with retrieving out-of-bounds balls and lining up player substitutions.

MJSA reserves the right to add games should there be more teams and coaches registered or to combine U15 and U17 ages if necessary to ensure more fun and competitiveness. These days and times will not be set until closer to May.

Check out our Traveling FC team and get on the waitlist if you are looking to take your game up a notch! Player and parent commitment is expected. An information meeting will take place in late April should there be enough players rostered for a team. Fees, tournaments, and practice times will be determined at this meeting.

If you are a U19 player please join us in our Adult Coed League. Join a team if you can or let us know when you register that you need team placement.

New this outdoor season, MJSA will be having our FC Traveling Teams as an add-on to our House Leagues.
