Valley Gardens Community Club
Valley Gardens Community Centre is offering local TimBits soccer for U4-U7 players in the months of May and June.
Players will receive a TimBits jersey to be returned at the end of the season. Players will need shoes (cleats or runners), shinpads, socks, and athletic shorts.
At the end of season, players will receive a soccer ball and TimBits award medallion for their successful season of Fun.
Our annual Family Fun Day and 50th Anniversary on Saturday June 6 will include a morning Jamboree for our TimBits players. Players and registered coaches will receive a free lunch coupon at the Jamboree when they check in.
Days of Play Options:
Monday & Wednesday 6-7pm
Tuesday & Thursday 6-7pm
Please indicate your preference at registration. In order to balance the number of players, we may send out requests to change your days of play in advance. If you are available either set of days, please select both boxes as this will help us in balancing.
Players will be grouped into two age divisions: U4/5 and U6/7. As we have done in the past, we may select some of the middle age range players to balance the groups.
In following the Canada Soccer Association guidelines for Grassroots soccer for the “Active Start” and “FUNdamentals” age groups, we acknowledge that adult (or mature teen sibling) participation in these programs is vital to keep kids engaged and learning. You’ll be keeping active and setting an example with your kids while having fun.
Full activity plans will be provided to Activity Leaders (coaches) for each session. These will include a large-group warm-up upon arrival, a mini-game on each field, stations that players will rotate through across all fields, and a final game.
Activity leaders will need to provide a criminal record check (with vulnerable sector screening) from the WPS, complete the Respect in Sport (RIS) online mini-course for Activity Leaders (free), and complete the Active Start for Grassroots programming online course ($21). Winnipeg Phoenix Soccer will schedule some free in-person training sessions. Manitoba Soccer also often provides in-person sessions; coaches will be notified by the convener when these are available.
Activity Leaders (coaches) will be reimbursed in June. In order to be identified and eligible, complete the Coach Registration. If you do not have an RIS number, this will be the first task you need to complete in order to create a Coach account on RAMP. Please see the Valley Gardens soccer webpage for links.

Thank you for applying to coach a micro-soccer TimBits team at VGCC. We appreciate your support of your player and their teammates.
To ensure the safety of all participants and provide a meaningful and enjoyable experience as well as comply with Canada Soccer's SQS program, coaches must be willing to submit or complete the following. If you have already completed a coaching account on RAMP, please make sure the details are up to date.
- Complete the Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders course. (Expires every 5 years) This is the first step in creating a Coach account on RAMP.
- A Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector. Provided by WPS or RCMP only. (Completed within the past 36 months). If you already have a completed CRC it can be shared with VGCC. A copy of your completed CRC must be uploaded to your Coach account.
- A Child Abuse Registry Check (Completed within the past 36 months). If you require a new CAR, this must be completed at VGCC with two pieces of ID. The completed copy will be uploaded to your Coach account.
- The appropriate coaching certification for the age/stage you are coaching - Active Start.
Note: Criminal Record Checks and Child Abuse Registry Checks must be submitted before the start of the season. All coaching certification requirements except the on-field portion must be completed before the season.
Once you have a coach account on RAMP, you will be able to use that account for future years and other sports. Requirements vary with each sport league, but most require the Respect in Sport course and background checks to ensure the safety of our players. Most also offer training courses relevant to the sport and ages of play.
If you are completing these for the first time or having to renew, VGCC will provide reimbursement upon completion of the season.
THANK YOU!
