Burnaby Canoe and Kayak Club

BCKC CanoeKids program is a week long day camp experience focused on all aspects of safe paddle sports. Children ages 8 to 13 years old will be introduced to canoeing, kayaking, water safety, as well as cooperative games and activities.
Throughout the week the young athletes will explore the beautiful nature at Burnaby Lake with qualified instructors in multiple disciplines, learning the basics of boating safety, developing their paddling skills and being educated on the environment around them! Along with their peers, all CanoeKids will have a great time challenging their own abilities while developing self-confidence and team-work skills. Participants will learn the fundamentals of paddling through a progressive learning approach.
In addition to paddling instruction, CanoeKids camps will incorporate a diverse range of outdoor activities tailored to challenge and support the holistic growth of young participants. Through nature hikes, team-building exercises, and interactive educational sessions, campers will develop essential life skills such as problem-solving, communication, and resilience. By fostering a dynamic learning environment that encourages exploration and discovery, our camps aim to empower young people to thrive both on and off the water.
At the completion of the week, participants will be able to use the skills acquired during camp by continuing with additional weeks at the camp, and/or joining other BCKC club programs which will build upon these skills to reach higher levels of skill development. This will further develop paddling skills, and will culminate in the Pacific Cup regatta competition in September - a perfect fun filled regatta for both new kids and experienced paddlers.
We are offering day camps (9-2 pm) with an optional one hour after camp care (20 camper group size). We ask campers to follow all safety measures your camp leaders outline for you so that we can all be safe.
We will be running programs from July 2 to August 29. If the week you wish to register for is not visible, this means that the week now full and not accepting any more waitlist registrations.

When registering please ensure the Day Camp/Summer Camp Category and Age Group is selected.
