RHCC 2025 Canoe Kids Camp

Register for CANOE KIDS 2025

Welcome to the Richmond Hill Canoe Club Canoe Kids paddling program. Canoe Kids is designed to offer an introduction to both canoe and kayak paddling for kids 8 to 11. It is a combination of paddling instruction and group fun, on and off the water. We are excited to bring back our full day Canoe Kids program this year, running from 9am - 4pm.

All RHCC programs require swimming ability: LSS Swimmer 5 or Red Cross Level 6.

This year we are offering 7 one week canoe kid sessions, beginning the week after Canada Day and running on a weekly basis until August 22nd. Each session runs Monday to Friday, except for session  session 5 (4 days beginning August 5th).

If your child is 10+ and wants to paddle more, check out our Introduction to Racing programs under Youth Competitive programs.

*No volunteer hours are required for this program, though we always welcome help!

    RACING INTRODUCTORY

WELCOME TO RHCC - THE SUMMER 2024 RACING INTRO PROGRAM!

RACING INTRODUCTION (RI) is for the newest youth members of our club, aged 11 to 14 years old. Many of our RI paddlers come directly from our Canoe Kids program or are new to our club. If you are interested in joining in the Spring, please register for our RD (Racing Development) program which can be found in the Competitive Youth section.

This is our FUNdamentals stage where we emphasize the overall development of a child’s physical capacities, fundamental movement skills including agility, balance, coordination and speed.

All RHCC programs are led by qualified coaches. All indicated ages are directional. If you are unsure about which program to register for, please reach out to Andrew Ivanov, our head coach (head_coach@rhcc.on.ca) or Mary Chambers, our registrar (programs@rhcc.on.ca), and we’ll help you find the right program.

*please note that $10 of every program fee is put toward our ‘Athlete Support Fund’ designed to help athletes with financial constraints stay in the sport.
