Welcome to Canoe Kayak BC Coach Education Registration!
Coaching is a profoundly impactful way to contribute to the world of sports, offering a gateway to empowerment, skill development, and personal growth. As a coach, you have the unique opportunity to guide athletes through challenges, celebrate their successes, and foster a lifelong love for canoe kayak.
Join us in this rewarding journey as we provide you with the tools, knowledge, and support to become a catalyst for positive change in the lives of aspiring paddlers. Together, let's embark on a path that not only shapes athletes but also shapes the future of our sport.
Community Coach (CanoeKids)
Coaching in the community stream is focused on grassroots participation and enabling others to enjoy a healthy lifestyle. Teaching enthusiastic newcomers can be a rewarding way to help others experience the joys of paddling by delivering an introductory program like CanoeKids or Pools in Schools. Sink your heart into managing a specific program like PaddleALL, Dragon Boat or Masters. This stream is an ideal starting point for new coaches to gain experience and they can easily transition into the competition stream if they so desire.
Also included in the Community Coach stream is the addition of the CKBC Surfski and SUP modules. These modules are available at no charge for those who complete the Community Coach workshop.
Community Coach candidates must also take the following NCCP multi-sport courses to be Community Coach certified:
1. Making Ethical Decisions
(offered through viaSport)
2. Safe Sport Training
(offered through the CAC Locker)
3. Emergency Action Planning
(offered through the CAC Locker)
IMPORTANT: Coaches are not certified until they have completed all their NCCP multisport courses.
