Balmy Beach Canoe Club
The Masters Sprint Canoe and Kayak Program is an adult paddling program for participants aged 25 and over, welcoming paddlers of all experience levels, from complete beginners to experienced racers.
Masters paddlers train in a supportive, social, and team-oriented environment that balances skill development, fitness, and enjoyment of the sport. Training includes both canoe and kayak in a variety of boat types, including single, double, four-person, and larger team boats such as C15s.
The program is well suited for adults looking to try a new sport, improve fitness, or reconnect with competitive paddling in a flexible and encouraging setting. Many participants join with little or no paddling experience, making this a welcoming entry point into sprint canoe and kayak.
During the summer season, Masters paddlers have opportunities to participate in weekend regattas that are tailored to a wide range of abilities. For those interested, the season culminates with the CanMas Masters National Championships, which includes novice racing categories for newer paddlers.
Off-season training focuses on maintaining fitness and technique through activities such as swimming, running, and strength training.

This package is intended for adults aged 25 and over who are new to the Masters Sprint Program and are not currently members of the Balmy Beach Club.
No prior paddling experience is required. Most Masters participants join as beginners, and it is never too late to start. New Masters will be introduced to sprint canoe and kayak training in a supportive group environment that emphasizes fitness, technique, and teamwork.
This package includes Balmy Beach Club fitness membership fees.

This package is for returning Masters athletes aged 25 and over who are current members of the Balmy Beach Club.
Masters paddlers continue to train in both canoe and kayak across a range of boat classes while building fitness, refining technique, and enjoying the social aspects of club paddling. Athletes are eligible and encouraged to participate in weekend regattas throughout the season, with events suited to both new and experienced paddlers.
The summer season concludes with the CanMas Masters National Championships, which includes novice events for newer Masters athletes.

Note on Additional Fees: Registration covers program participation. Athletes participating in National Championships or CanMas will be responsible for applicable race entry and scratch fees, which will be billed separately if athletes qualify. CKC membership fees are paid directly to CKC through RAMP at the time of registration.
