Racing Program

WHO: For ages 8+;

WHAT:

  • Session introduce youth and adults to the Olympic sport of Sprint Canoe & Kayak
  • Paddlers transition from recreational equipment to the Sprint equipment

WHERE: Yorkton Canoe Kayak Club, York Lake, SK

WHEN:

  • Season is May - September
  • May & June/Sept: 4pm - 6pm (weather pending)
  • July/August: 9:00am - 4:00pm, Monday - Friday
  • Weekend competitions (regattas)

WHY:

  • Experience awesome competitions!
  • Paddle with athletes from all over Canada!
  • Make new friends!
  • Have fun!
  • Stay active during the summer! Sprint Canoe & Kayaking is also a great cross-trainer for any sport

 COST:

  • FULL SEASON = $630 (+Membership/CKC/CKS fees)
    • Unlimited # of sessions from May to September
    • This is for paddlers who plan on attending ~30 full days in the Summer
    • Family Discount: Save $50/additional kid (select this package from fees list to apply discount) - discount only applies when both children are registered in Racing Program FULL season
  • Half SEASON = $360 (+Membership/CKC/CKS fees)
    • This pays for 15 full day sessions
    • This is for paddlers who plan on attending ~15 full days in Summer
    • Family Discount: Save $30/additional kid (select this package from fees list to apply discount) - discount only applies when both children are registered in Racing Program HALF season

  • Pay as you go system.
    • $90 Base cost (+Membership/CKC/CKS fees)
    • Drop-In $30/day, $15/half-day
    • Note: Base cost goes towards paying for the first 3 sessions. 
  • Partial Season Deals. These are for paddlers who plan on attending a set amount of days during the summer. Additional session packages can added by reaching to yorktoncanoekayakclub@gmail.com. 
    • 20 Days: $450 (+Membership/CKC/CKS fees)
    • 10 Days: $270 (+Membership/CKC/CKS fees)
    • 5 Days: $140 (+Membership/CKC/CKS fees)
    • 2 Days: $58 (+Membership/CKC/CKS fees)

Other Fees/Notes:

  • Above Fees do not include Regatta Fees (entry fee, meals, transportation, accommodation, , etc.) or Racing Singlet
  • You will be charged a Canoe Kayak Saskatchewan Membership Fee $20 (required)
  • You will be charged a Yorkton Canoe Kayak Club Membership Fee $20 (required)
  • You will be charged a Canoe Kayak Canada Membership Fee $7.00 to $41.50 depending on age
    • Competitions are NOT mandatory. If you don't plan on racing this season, PLEASE REGISTER UNDER "SPRINT RECREATIONAL" so that you are not charged the CKC fee
  • YCKC is located in a Regional Park and therefore individuals require either a daily park pass or a season park pass. Please purchase these passes from the Toll booth or the YRLP Canteen.

Did you know? Sprint Canoe Kayak is an approved KidSport activity!

Participants need to bring:

  • All equipment and coaching is provided.
  • WATER BOTTLE that can float/go in the water (ex. plastic NOT metal)
  • Snacks (min. 2-3 for full day)
  • bag lunch (microwave is available)
  • weather appropriate clothing & change of clothes;
  • towel;
  • inexpensive sandals (for around the dock) that slide on and off quickly;
  • runners;
  • sunscreen & hat.
