Balmy Beach Canoe Club

Balmy Beach Sports Camp

Sports Camp at Balmy Beach Canoe Club is a full-day, multi-sport summer camp designed for children aged 8 to 12 who love being active, social, and outdoors.

Campers take part in a wide variety of sports, games, and activities throughout the day, including paddling, capture-the-flag, swimming, biking, soccer, and classic camp games. The focus is on movement, teamwork, and fun, giving campers the opportunity to try new activities, stay active, and build friendships in a safe and supportive environment.

Sports Camp offers a true summer camp experience that balances structured activities with free play and exploration. Campers are encouraged to challenge themselves, build confidence, and enjoy being part of a group while spending their summer days by the water.

Older youth aged 14 to 17 can take part in the Counsellor in Training (CIT) program, a leadership and volunteer opportunity that allows participants to support camp staff, assist with activities, and act as positive role models for younger campers. The CIT program focuses on developing leadership, teamwork, communication, and responsibility in a fun and active camp environment.

Please note that campers are required to bring their own bicycle and must be confident riding independently without training wheels, as biking is incorporated into daily programming.

Families are encouraged to visit the Sports Camp page for details on weekly themes, field trips, and special activities planned throughout the summer.

This program is ideal for campers looking for a fun, active summer filled with variety, friends, and classic camp experiences, as well as older youth interested in developing leadership skills through the CIT program.

A full-day, multi-sport summer camp for children aged 8 to 12. Campers enjoy a wide range of activities including paddling, swimming, biking, field games, and classic camp fun while building confidence, friendships, and a love of being active.
Each week different games and activities are planned to offer variety, as many campers book more than one week. The focus of the camp has always been self-esteem, fitness, co-operation and fun.  Campers are divided into small groups with their friends and are responsible to a counsellor. We paddle three times each week at the Ashbridges Bay boathouse.

**We rely on bicycles for transportation to various locations on the Beach. Campers are required to be confident riding a bicycle with no training wheels to attend Sports Camp.**
