Lumby Minor Hockey Association is gearing up for the 2025/2026 season, and we’re excited to share important registration information with you.

We encourage families to register early to secure a spot for the upcoming season.

U13 Division

If you’re looking to register your child in the U13 division and notice it is currently showing as waitlisted — please don’t panic. We encourage you to complete the registration and get on the waitlist.

This season, we’ve set division capacities as we navigate the uncertainty surrounding the new Open Borders program. Our goal remains the same:

To ensure that every LMHA player who wants to play recreational hockey in Lumby has a spot to play in our home barn.

As registration numbers come in for other divisions, we will assess and adjust as needed to accommodate our local players.

Also, many U13 players are currently registered for Tier 2-4 tryouts. If those players are successful in securing a spot at the REP level, that will open up space for those on the waitlist.

• Registration between June 16-30, 2025: Register and pay in full to receive a $50 early bird discount.
• Registration July 1-30, 2025: Payment due in full by September 7, 2025.
• Payment Plans: Available June 16-September 7. Final payment due by September 7, 2025.

Example Payment Plan for U13 Player:

• Due at time of registration - $235
• July 30 - $225
• August 30 - $225

Late Fee: A $75 late fee applies to unpaid accounts as of September 10, 2025.
Players will not be allowed on the ice until full payment is received.

Waitlisted Players: Unpaid spots after Sept 7 may be released to waitlisted players (in order of registration timestamp).

• Cheque or Cash: Contact registrar to arrange drop-off
• Credit Card: 3.0% non-refundable surcharge applies (surcharge is non-refundable); there is an option to split payments.

Note: Do not include admin fee when paying by e-transfer.

Financial Assistance: If applying through KidSport, Jumpstart, etc., notify the registrar by email.

• Early Bird: $50 off if paid in full by June 30
• Goalie: $150 off for goalies (U11-U18) who supply their own gear
• Additional $150 credit next season if they commit + complete full season
  Only valid for players registered + paid through LMHA
• First Year Player: 50% off (never played minor hockey before)

Game Socks are INCLUDED THIS YEAR with registration!  Each registration includes one pair of game socks. Exchanges will be limited — please review sizing carefully or size up if unsure. A size chart is provided in the registration system.

New this season, all U13-U18 REP teams will operate under the Lower North Zone in partnership with Vernon and Winfield. This includes Tier 2, 3, and 4 programs.

To try out:

1. Register with LMHA (opens June 16) and pay regular fees to reserve a Lumby team spot.
2. Register separately for REP evaluations (links below).

COACH APPLICATIONS - NOW OPEN

We are now accepting Coach Applications for the upcoming 2025-2026 season.

• LMHA Recreational Teams (House League)
  If you are interested in coaching a recreational team with LMHA, please complete the LMHA Coach Application form - available through RAMP Registration. All levels welcome!
• REP Coaching (Tier 2-4 Teams)
  If you are interested in coaching a REP team (U13-U18 Tier 2, Tier 3, or Tier 4) as part of the Lower North Zone Program, please [Apply Here].

We are now inviting all new (interested) and returning officials to register for the upcoming 2025-2026 season.

Please note:
Our clinic date for this season has not yet been finalized, but registering now ensures you will receive all important updates and communications as soon as they become available.

Whether you're returning for another season or looking to become a first-time official, we encourage you to register early to stay informed.

U9 DIVISION UPDATE - BALANCED TEAMS PROPOSED

For the upcoming 2025-2026 season, LMHA is recommending a return to balanced teams in the U9 Division. This approach focuses on development, fair play, and ensuring all players enjoy equal opportunities on the ice.

To ensure this direction aligns with the wishes of our membership, a short survey will be sent out in mid-August to all families registered in the U9 Division.

Please watch your inbox in August and share your feedback — your input is important in helping us make the best decision for our players.

U11 DIVISION UPDATE - DEVELOPMENT TEAM OPTION

LMHA is working in collaboration with Greater Vernon Minor Hockey Association (GVMHA) to allow our U11 players the opportunity to try out for the U11 Development Program.

If your player is interested in this opportunity, please select the “Development Tryouts - Integrated” option during registration. Selecting this option ensures you receive all necessary follow-up information regarding the evaluation process.

Please note:

• The U11 Development Team will likely be hosted in Vernon.
• All practices and games will take place in Vernon.
• Players who make the team will be required to pay GVMHA registration rates, not LMHA rates.

If your player does not make the Development team, they will remain eligible to play with LMHA’s U11 Recreational program.

Pre-Registration Checklist - Make Your Registration Smoother!

To help ensure a quick and seamless registration process please have the following ready:

1. Player Birth Certificate Upload

All players are now required to upload a copy of their birth certificate during registration. This is needed for verification through the Hockey Canada Registry.

2. Medical Information Form

We recommend completing the form on a computer or tablet for the best experience. However, it may be filled out on a mobile device using the instructions below.

Filling Out PDF Forms on a Phone

iPhone (iOS):

1. Download the PDF form to your device (use the Files app).
2. Open the PDF using the Files app.
3. Tap the markup icon (pen tip) to open editing tools.
4. Tap the three-dot menu (top right) and select the pencil icon to access the fillable form.
5. Fill out the form and tap “Done” to save.

Android:

1. Download the PDF form to your device.
2. Open the Adobe Acrobat app.
3. Tap the plus sign (+) at the bottom of the screen.
4. Select “Edit a PDF”, then choose the saved form.
5. Tap the pencil icon, select “Edit PDF”, fill out the form, then tap “Done.”
