  • Continue to Train, Continue to Compete - Spring and Summer

    $400.00
    19 of 20 Available

Continue to Paddle is part of Cheema’s commitment to provide opportunities for paddlers to “Continue to Train” (CTT) and “Continue to Compete” (CTC).  Ages 16 to 29

CTC has competition opportunities, providing crew boat racing in K4s and/or C4s as well as war canoe (often called “Wars and Fours”)

CTT provides an opportunity for our alumni to keep paddling for the pleasure and fitness

Winter off-water season, November 1 to April 30. The off water/winter term will require that athletes join in with other groups at their training times or have permission from a supervising coach to train at other times. This relates most specifically to the weight room. Organized runs require no supervision.

Summer paddling season, May 1 to October 31. Both elements of Continue to Paddle are largely unstructured with a few basic provisions that are oriented around safety, supervision and facility/equipment management. We encourage participants to form peer groups to train on their own or join in with "best-fit" training groups. The basic rules are that the club must be opened by a staff member; that a safety boat is ready at the dock; that the coach of a structured training group agrees to supervise participation; and that participants act as custodians of our shared resources.

Cheema's cold water policy must be followed; PFD must be worn and a safety boat must be on the water when water temperature are 8 degrees celcius and below.

Winter Continue to Paddle program: $400

Summer Continue to Train program: $400

Summer Continue to Compete program: $400 + Fees paid to ADCKC/CKC for Racing

Capital Fund Fee (charged once per year): $50

Boat Storage is a separate annual fee: $75
