Pickering Rouge Canoe Club
Special Olympics / Paddle All
Special Olympics / Paddle All is a program for people with intellectual and physical disabilities. Participants paddle various water crafts such as recreational canoes and kayaks, and sprint race kayaks. All-Abilities provides a safe and inclusive environment where each participant can build skills and confidence on the water at their own pace. The focus is on having fun and being safe! The program includes a safety orientation and instruction by experienced coaches. Each paddler spends time on the water with a paddling partner for 3:1 support. This program is ideal for ages 10 and older, but younger children may be accepted at the discretion of the All-Abilities Coach. Participants may be divided into two groups - recreation or development. The development group has greater focus on skill improvement. Both recreational and development participants can race at regattas, competing against other All-Abilities athletes if they wish.
We are proud to introduce our inclusive paddling program, designed to empower individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities. Formerly known as PaddleALL, this program focuses on creating a supportive, fun, and safe environment where all participants can develop their paddling skills and build confidence on the water.
