Refund Policy


Registration Refund Policy

Please note: This policy applies to season registration fees only.
Travel tryout fees are non-refundable, except in cases of medical reasons supported by documentation.


Before September 1

  • House League: Full refund (only if no Lakeshore Lightning ice has been used)
  • Travel: Full refund less a $50 displacement fee

September 1 - September 30

Refunds will have the following deducted:

  • $50 administrative fee
  • $25 processing fee
  • Any applicable OWHA registration and insurance fees

After October 1

  • Refund requests are reviewed case by case by the Board
  • If approved, refunds will be prorated based on the remaining season
  • The following fees will still apply:
    • $50 administrative fee
    • $25 processing fee
    • Any applicable OWHA registration and insurance fees

Medical Exceptions

  • Refund requests due to injury or medical reasons may be considered at any time
  • Requests must include appropriate medical documentation
  • Approved refunds will be prorated and subject to applicable fees

Additional Notes

  • All refund requests must be submitted in writing to: treasurer@lakeshorelightning.com
  • The effective refund date is when the request is received
  • Refunds will only be issued once all Association-issued equipment has been returned
  • Credit card processing fees (3%) are non-refundable
  • Late fees and fundraising contributions are non-refundable
