Refund Policy - Player Withdrawal
Once a Vancouver FC team is selected and players have accepted positions on a team, prospective players who attended the evaluations are released to find positions at other clubs. Once prospective players are released, Vancouver FC is unable to subsequently replace a player who has accepted a position and decides to withdraw. Vancouver FC’s costs are essentially fixed (coaching staff, field rental for practices and games, referees and assistant referees, etc.) and a withdrawing player does not decrease club expenses. At the time of registration players and parents commit to payment of the registration fee for the season and Vancouver FC makes commitments based on said registration. As such Vancouver FC is not able to refund any amounts paid or owing if a player decides to withdraw except as provided:
Player Injury
Injuries are an unfortunate and difficult aspect of sport and as a club Vancouver FC is committed to ongoing programs to effectively reduce the chance of injury, although it is not possible to avoid injury in all cases. Injured players remain a key and active part of our teams. Further the costs incurred by the club are essentially fixed and hence an injured player who is unable to participate in training or games does not decrease club expenses. The club is not able to refund or prorate registration fees during the period of time a player is injured.
In exceptional circumstances, if accompanied by a doctor’s note the Vancouver Board may consider a request for a prorated reimbursement of registration fees for a player who suffers from a medical condition that is season-ending.
Extenuating circumstances
In exceptional circumstances, the Vancouver FC Board may consider a request for a prorated reimbursement of registration fees
