Refund Policy
Registration refunds will be provided for program withdrawal requests as per the following guidelines in regards to the Fall/Winter Season (Spring League may differ):
1. All refund requests must be in writing, either by letter or e-mail and must be delivered to:
The President
Cole Harbour Minor Basketball Association
184 Colby Drive
Dartmouth, NS B2W1J7
Email: treasurer@rocketsbasketball.com
2. Full refunds will be provided for withdrawals prior to the MBA season's first seeding game, minus an admin fee of $50. (October 30th). This is for requests based on a family moving or the child being injured.
3. Refunds will be provided to Midget or Juvenile players who withdraw after successfully making a high school division 1 or 2 team, minus an admin fee of $50.
4. Only in extenuating circumstances (for example a season-ending injury or family relocation) will the executive entertain a request for a pro-rated reimbursement of registration fees if a player withdraws after the MBA seasons first game. The maximum reimbursement the executive may approve under this policy is 80%, less an admin fee of $50.
5. If a player has been dismissed due to misconduct, no refund will be provided.
6. If an athlete's parents or the athlete themselves are not happy with the placement after team balancing, we do not offer refunds for families looking to switch clubs in hopes their child will play at a higher level elsewhere after placements have been completed. Changes at this time in the process cause major issues when our club could have 10 -12 teams in a division and removing a player from the middle causes a major reshuffle and disrupts a lot of families - plus this is all work done by volunteers. The balancing process is a job interview for the kids, they may have an amazing resume - but they also have to do well at the job interview to get the position they are hoping for. Families need to express their expectations early, attend the balancing sessions to watch all the athletes (not just theirs) compete, and understand that it is not a perfect system but a very fair system. Typically, the kids are placed in a spot where they can succeed and prosper as young athletes.
During a delayed season start, such as the 2020-21 season, no refunds will be issued after the MBA announces the official start date of the season.
